Shopping for dads for Father's Day is a notoriously difficult task.
And whether he's a man who loves to drink out by the pool, relax with a beer on the beach, or enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the morning, we have put together a list of gifts that are as unique as his dad jokes.
So this year skip the tie and get him one of these rad gifts from a small business that are sure to knock his socks off.
1. Dad Jokes on Point.
One of my favorite things about my husband? His Dad Jokes. I'm pretty sure it was one of the things he was most looking forward to about becoming a Dad. That and yelling at kids to get off our damn lawn.
So when I saw the Ask Me About My Dad Jokes mug, coozie and pint glasses from Brittany Garner Designs, I knew I had to order one.
A great start to a weekend morning would include a cup of locally roasted coffee while perusing the latest Sactown Magazine out on the patio.
The mug is perfect paired with a locally roasted coffee like Camellia (I love the look of their vibrant mid-mod labels, and their coffee is superb), Temple (I especially love their Cadence Blend which donates to the Sacramento Bike Park Project) Pachamama (which is 100% farmer owned and offers a coffee subscription) or The Pepper Peddler (roasted in Davis in a custom designed, pedal powered roaster and delivered within Davis and Sacramento by bike, also available at the Davis Food Co-op).
2. Beach Day.
When I saw that Kortni Jeane had matching swimsuits for the whole family, I believe my first words were "take my money."
These are just as much for me as they are for him (ok they are 100% for me, but my guys are gonna look damn good in their matching swimsuits). Not having daughters doesn't stop me from dressing my kids in matching mommy-son/father-son outfits! Plus they have super cute prints that rotate with each new release of mix 'n match swim suits.

3. Custom Label.
What's better than giving Dad Johnny Walker Black (or Blue) Label Scotch? How about a customized bourbon label! You can order Custom Woodford Reserve Bourbon Labels and they will mail them to you. All you have to do is pick up a bottle of Woodford Reserve Bourbon and stick on the label. But order now as it takes 7-10 days to get the labels!
You could easily pair this would some Schott Zwiesel (they're chip/break resistant and the only glassware we use now, after breaking every single damn Riedel glass I owned) or vintage glasses for a complete gift.
Last year's custom bourbon label reads "Happy Father's Day! We Love You Daddy!" And yes, I ordered another one for this year -- hubby is a bourbon lover.
4. Sweet Tooth.
Does Dad love bourbon AND have a sweet tooth? Then you need to get him a box of the Sugarfina Bourbon Gummy Bears. Known for their champagne gummy bears, Sugarfina also has various other alcohol flavored gummy bears (I just had a horrible flashback to college when we used to eat vodka-soaked gummy bears. These are not those, thank God).
Want to pick them up here in Sacramento? Then check out Display: California in Sacramento's Oak Park.

5. A Stately Manor.
Keep it local with this Stately Bottle Opener crafted in Sacramento by Newton Booth Builds. You can choose the state (although we all know California is the best!). And the bottle opener has a magnet that allows you to stick it to the fridge and it catches the bottle caps too!

This would be perfect with a 6-pack or growler of local beer (there are so many amazing local craft beers...that's definitely another post for another time).
Bonus: How about a box from Poppy and Oak that will help your man master his morning? We have TWO Father's Day Mini Boxes -- the Dapper Dad and the Beard Box.
Featuring soap (made with Sudwerk beer) by Figs and Feathers Farms, beard balm, beard oil and/or detox mud scrub from Salt & Shea and a cool air plant, this box will be sure to set him out on the right foot each morning. Is he a coffee guy? We can add in a delicious and cool looking bag of locally roasted coffee too.
