Did I scare ya? I hope not. I'm not really a fan of all the gore and scariness surrounding Halloween. But I sure love Reese's and seeing kids have a blast dressing up.
My toddler is obsessed with his leopard costume and has worn it going on three.days.straight. He says he's "Super Leopard." Okay kid. I'm just hoping he'll change out of it by the time photos with Santa rolls around...
If you're local to the Davis-area, check out the annual Downtown Treat Trail today!
For this fun annual tradition, downtown Davis businesses host Halloween trick-or-treating (mostly just treats) where they hand out treats from 2-4:30pm. Just look for businesses with an orange "Treat Trail" sign.
Not only is there a Halloween celebration today, but there is also be a Dia de los Muertos celebration at E Street Plaza, featuring live Mariachi music and Aztec dancers. E Street Plaza will be closed to traffic (as are the surrounding streets, so parking might be difficult -- it's Davis so bike riding is always a good idea). People are encouraged to come dressed in Dia de los Muertos dress and costumes.
The Dia de los Muertos celebration will include a procession, performances and community altar. Its goal is to bring performers, businesses, artists and other community groups and leaders to the heart of Davis to give thanks to those who have touched our lives.
The Varsity Theater will also be showing the greatest Halloween movie of all time (I stand by this assertion 100%) -- It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. There are three free showings: 2:00pm, 2:35pm, 3:10pm.
And while you're downtown, stop by the Three Ladies Cafe for treats (including healthy treats like smoothies) and to peruse a selection of Poppy and Oak gift boxes!
